Job description

Responsible for performing payroll functions for a bi-weekly payroll for approximately 6,000 employees. Functions include time and attendance system processes, payroll system processes, reporting, payroll tax returns, W-2’s, and designing and running database queries. Researches payroll errors or corrections and issues checks for underpayments. Performs reconciliations of wages, taxes, and deductions. Trains new payroll employees in all functional aspects of the various payroll processes and systems. Provides excellent customer service to both managers and employees.

Education requirements
Require payroll experience of two (2) or more years with an Associates degree in a business-related field, or an Associates degree equivalent if attending a four-year school. Five (5) or more years of relevant payroll experience may substitute for required degree.
Experience requirements
Require at least five years of payroll experience in a large organization.
Qualifications
- Require proficiency in payroll software and the use of microcomputer spreadsheet, word processing and database software in a Windows environment (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Require team player and self-starter who is accurate and detail oriented.
- Require the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Require the ability to take initiative, work with little supervision and solve problems independently.
- Require proficiency in time management skills with the ability to prioritize a variety of duties.
- Require ability to provide excellent customer service.
